The Artistry

hr

Microblading is a semi-permanent form of eyebrow makeup that originated in Asia. Initially invented for Cancer Survivors who had lost most or all of their eyebrows due to chemotherapy treatments. Using a manual blade, your artist will implant pigment into the first three layers of the skin. The pigment is implanted in hair like strokes to make the tattoo look like real hair. Prior to implanting the pigment, your artist will numb the area to be treated with a topical numbing cream. Microblading is more than just a treatment, it is an art.

Why does price vary between artists?

Do your research as with everything else. Your artist should have the ability to meet your expectations, if done correctly. There are many techniques and factors  to consider so please review the technique that is being utilized to make sure it is what you are looking for. Things to look for, the intended shape desired (is your artist skilled in shaping and measuring your brows?) The most important factor in microblading is your artist’s ability to symmetrically shape the brows to your face. During your consultation and prior to starting your procedure, we will spend the time shaping your brows utilizing our very own specialized technique. Your approval will always be required prior to beginning the procedure. Our top priority is to ensure our client’s satisfaction by giving you a shape that compliments your unique facial features. Don’t get stuck with unnatural looking brows because your artist has a poor technique. Please note that cheaper isn’t always better. Understand that you are entrusting your face to the skills of your artist. Ink utilized (does the ink contain harmful metals such as, mercury, iron oxide, cobalt…etc) Mercury can cause severe allergic reactions and scarring which will ruin your brows. These metals will also cause the pigment to change color, leaving you with green, blue or gray color once healed. Quality Ink will not change color, it will only fade over time; we at MB Diva use only the highest quality ink specifically made for microblading helping you achieve optimal results.

Another factor to consider is oily skin; if your skin is excessively oily, you may not be a candidate for microblading. Is your artist cleaning your skin to remove excess oil prior to beginning treatment?

Dermis Gunness from this day forward is the only person that will be touching my eyebrows.  I haven’t use a pencil since.  She was so meticulous about shaping and measuring….. the right color….she explained, and told me step by step what she was going to do……OMG….I have beautiful eyebrows now…. I hate having to use brow stencils, fillers, pencils, markers, tints…etc. It’s such a waste of my time but my eyebrows would only grow half way so what’s a girl to do? Well, I did some research about microblading and decided  to attend a microblading grand opening event.
Turns out I was the lucky winner of a free microblading session and requested to only do half of my brows because I have “zero” pain tolerance and I mean ZERO. Dermis was so confident, knowledgeable and patient that she helped reduce my anxiety and I decided to proceed to do my full brows. (she also made sure to use a medical grade topical anesthetic)
Dermis measures and analyzes your brow structure and symmetry of your face so that the final product doesn’t just meet the standards.  For anyone still wary of the process, I recommend a free consultation, you’ve got nothing to lose 🙂

BEFORE CARE

hr

  • One week before STOP taking the following supplements (Vitamin E, B6, Omega 3, Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort) these are considered blood thinners (may result in more bleeding) and may affect anesthetic effectiveness. You may resume taking your supplements 72 hours after your procedure.
  • Do not take Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours before application
  • 72 hours before and after your microblading appointment: avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen.
  • The day of your appointment NO caffeine, exercise.
  • Wash your hair PRIOR to your appointment, avoid showers for several days, baths are recommended. Do not wet the treated area!
  • Pigment retention varies depending on skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals, and the type of pigment used.
  • No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before application.
  • Do not work out 24 hours before application (body heat expands the pores). It is recommended not to sweat (heavily) for the first 10-14 days after the procedure. Sweat is salt and will prematurely fade, blur or cause the pigment not to take at all.
  • Avoid sun/ tanning/burning 4 weeks prior and 4 weeks after procedure as it will affect results.
  • No brow waxing or tinting one week before application (let your brow hair grow out for as long as you can stand it)
  • No Botox for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to your application and 3 weeks after.
  • No Accutane for 1 year prior to application.
  • No chemical peels 60 days before and 60 days after (if you do, the brows will fade quicker due to Retinols/Retin-A’s, other anti-aging creams or serums containing acids that fade your permanent makeup prematurely even after it has healed).
  • Please note: You will be more sensitive if you have fibromyalgia or are on your menstrual cycle.
  • Smoking will cause the pigment to fade prematurely and anesthetics will not last as long.
  • We use only the best quality pigments that heal true to color. All materials used during each and every appointment (including pre-sterilized blades) are 100% disposable. We strictly adhere to both Florida Public Health and OSHA guidelines for proper infection control practices.
